Grace & Lou’s Sun Soaked Valley Forge Engagement Session

Grace and Lou’s engagement session at Valley Forge National Historical Park was the perfect blend of country charm and golden hour magic. What started as an overcast evening quickly turned into something unforgettable — the sun came out right as we began, casting the most beautiful, glowy light across the fields of tall grass. We all looked at each other in disbelief (and excitement!) as the sky transformed into the dreamiest backdrop. Grace had spotted this stunning tree on my Instagram months ago and immediately knew that was exactly where they wanted their engagement photos taken — and it could not have been more perfect.

Leaning into a perfectly country vibe, Lou accessorized with his cowboy hat and they both wore boots that just felt effortlessly them. They started their session cuddling and laughing through the tall grass, completely playful and at ease with one another. They’re the kind of couple that feels genuine and down-to-earth from the moment you meet them — sweet, connected, and so clearly best friends. As golden hour deepened, we made our way to the tree Grace had fallen in love with, where the warm sunlight wrapped around them in the most romantic way.

Valley Forge is always a beautiful location for engagement photos, but this night felt especially magical. Between the glowing sunset, the open fields, and Grace and Lou’s joyful energy, it was an engagement session that perfectly reflected who they are. I cannot wait to celebrate with them later this year at Locust Hall Farm — if this session was any indication, their wedding day is going to be filled with just as much heart and happiness!
