As Hurricane Ophelia swept through Philadelphia, love was the prevailing force at Vue on 50, where Anna and Alex celebrated their love against a backdrop of breathtaking views of the city skyline. Anna’s dream of a sophisticated wedding with a hunt of disco came to life with the perfect blend of a black tie affair and the sparkle of disco balls, hinting at the amazing party to come! Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, though.
Anna and Alex spent the morning getting ready separately, the rain falling down outside could not put a damper on the day as these two anticipated seeing one another! Anna’s anthropologie wedding gown was sleek and chic, with the most amazing detachable bow and vintage inspired veil completing the look. Her girls and dad had the sweetest reactions seeing their beautiful bride, and before long we made our way across the street where Alex was waiting for his soon-to-be-wife.
In a quiet corner surrounded by windows overlooking the city these two saw each other for the first time that day – Alex’s smile just says it all! These two were in bliss – it was so easy to capture their love. We enjoyed a mini portrait session of authentic laughter and editorial portraits that reflected the perfect blend of fun and sophistication of their day! It wasn’t long before guests arrived and rehearsed their applause for the couple before the ceremony began. Heartfelt vows, followed by the official announcement and a roar of applause for their loved ones ushered these two officially into marriage!
At their request we escaped down to the lobby for a few portraits by the lobby’s incredible gold doors and elevators before these two enjoyed cocktail hour and danced their way into the reception! What a timeless, joyous wedding day these two had, and what an honor it was to document!
